I was around when NUFC won the cup in 1951/52/55 and one of those years (1952) I saw it for the first time on TV from the far away Holme Moss mast as I now know that Pontop Pike wasn't broadcasting then so the picture was in and out at best.
Even then it could only have been the second half I sawbecause the first wasn't broadcast.
Mainly in those days we saw it a few days later on Pathe News in the local cinemas.
