Great memories of that! The librarians were Pat and Jackie. Ed Nesbitt and I would pop our heads around the door and ask if they had Wind in the Willows. When they said they said yes Ed would say "you can get tablets to cure it"!! the off we'd run.! Apart from that, the olde worlde smell of books was always there. However, Mr Wakefield the chief librarian would arrive with his bike and bicycle clips! I loved that library. The first book I borrowed was a blue jacket with Christmas Carol. Somehow I didn't feel the same about the new one! Anyone recall the old one?
