Wardley was a working Pit in the 1870s.
Follonsby was sunk in 1907 & finished in 1911.
When I was there in the early 60s Follonsby was Wardley number 1 Pit & Wardley was number 2 Pit.
A large roadway went from the shaft at the 1260ft level to Follonsby shaft where all the coal was taken to the surface including Usworth coal.
