Probably Norman but my Dad was born a Sand-dancer and many of my relatives with whom I played on Trow Rocks were from S Shields and I never heard those names! Now with some time I have found most of the named places on Google Maps. So just me being a bit dim!! Re Spuggies Bridge. You and I know where it was but there are those, especially younger than us, from Hebburn who have disputed its location. I take your point about Whinney Lane!! I bet lots of Hebburn locals dont know where it was!
