I really don’t understand why, if these people ar entering the country illegally, they aren’t treat as criminals immediately & sent to secure detention centres where they can be supervised & any asylum processes carried out in humane but basic conditions . Anyone with no documents should then be returned where they came from (France etc). Governments keep ranting about “ smash the gangs “ etc but if they made it as unattractive as possible to want to live here then the market would eventually dry up. The country would also save a fortune on hotel bills etc.
Am I the only one who sees this as a solution.
