The street signage on the newest housing estate, The Ropery, is diabolical. We were wondering who it was named after. To start off with the council had Sheeran Close, could be the singer but why him, nothing to do with Hebburn, then thought Jenny Shearan the Coke Ovens Campaigner, if so spelt incorrectly. Couple of weeks later 2 of the signs have been changed the Shearan Close. On the entrance to the housing estate from Argyle Street there are two signs and you'll never guess what, one reading Sheeran and one reading Shearan. Come on South Tyneside Council, get it sorted out.
