Jenny Shearan was a Hebburn Councillor and campaigned to get the Monkton Coke Works closed.
The Coke Works had been there since 1936 and no one complained
Then in the late 50s or early 60s Jennie Shearan got a Council House next to them & started campaigning to close them down.
I think it is wrong to name streets after Councillors ?
Why was the street not named 'Frazer Close' to remember the man who brought employment to our Town?
Do Hebburn Councillors not THINK like we do?
