Liz, that is exactly what I thought would/should happen. I remember there was a man deported from Australia who had moved there as a child, but he was deported after a prison sentence. He was given a flat in one of the villages. The authorities knew about him arriving as he was born in the area. It just seems no one let this poor woman know. He just arrived on her doorstep. Obviously more will told when he goes to trial. I have a feeling he will just be sent to Mental Hospital.
