Hi Allan, I haven't used a paid for anti-virus package for years and I have used them all over the years: Norton, Eset, Panda, AVG, Kaperski, McAffee, Avast and countless others. I now dont wish to purchase them anymore. The ones I've used are the free ones: AVG, Avast, Avira.
I did have problems with Avira but switched to Avast, been running that for years now without problems but the pop ups are annoying.....telling me my ip addy is visable, etc,etc which I just ignore. No harm in trying any of them to see which one you like, remember you should only have 1 on at any time. Uninstall previous versions first. If you dont like one of the free ones , uninstall it and try another. I know it can be a bit of a faf installing to try then uninstall it to try another. I dont mind doing that as it saves me money.
