Google's entire reason for existing is to make money from advertising. If you're locked into an Android phone (I'm not any more) you're going to have a lot of Google products pushed at you. You don't, however have to use them. You can use firefox as a browser rather than google chrome, and use a different search engine. I use duck duck go which is very privacy focused.

As an android customer you will have been forced to create a google mail address. Again, you don't have to use it. There are many email providers out there who are privacy focused, some free, some at a relatively modest cost. I use posteo, a German company who charge 1 euro a month for a very good email service.

Like anything else online or otherwise, you get what you pay for, and with Google you 'pay' by having ads forced down your throat.
