Hi Carol, he finished building his boat a while ago.

Amazing piece of work! It's called a Cat-boat, an old-fashioned wooden built sail boat, built to 7/8 scale (It's about 25 foot long)

When I asked "why 7/8 scale, and not full size?" He replied "My garage wasn't quiet big enough, so had to slightly scale everything down, to fit!!"

Amazing skill, all polished wood, brass fittings, properly rigged.

And yes, the Lavery line, our mothers' birth name. I traced them back through Northumberland, prior to that in Maybole, Ayrshire (about 20 miles from where I now live) and before that from Ireland.
