I didnt know some of those regulars from Mike Ellison's & later your site Vikki.
Some will have passed on like Len Stephenson & Mike Lynch have & some didnt migrate to this new Forum for some reason.
Someone once asked me what happened to Marion Scaife in Bermuda as she was a regular in those days.

Norman, with fibromyalgia and other underlying health conditions, my memory isn't the best on all the names as it's been a long time. I got the pictures from Val Tate's page back at the time, with her permission. There are a few of the older regulars not on there. I simply came across it while I was looking for something else and thought it would be nice to share. Both sites have always been easy to find using Google or contacting you through your email or picture site. I know from back then a lot of people just read the posts rather than engage and I'm sure this is still the case. It was easier to let you set up your own site because it had been problematic when we changed it from Mike's to transferring it into mine as the site is based in California. By the by, I drop in from time to time, often many months apart, and as I said, I thought it'd be nice to share so I did.

Thats wonderful to hear, did he ever finish his boat?
It transpired that we had some connection in the LAVERY family.

Hi Carol, he finished building his boat a while ago.

Amazing piece of work! It's called a Cat-boat, an old-fashioned wooden built sail boat, built to 7/8 scale (It's about 25 foot long)

When I asked "why 7/8 scale, and not full size?" He replied "My garage wasn't quiet big enough, so had to slightly scale everything down, to fit!!"

Amazing skill, all polished wood, brass fittings, properly rigged.

And yes, the Lavery line, our mothers' birth name. I traced them back through Northumberland, prior to that in Maybole, Ayrshire (about 20 miles from where I now live) and before that from Ireland.

Thank you Vikki - Wonderful. I remember them all as I have followed the Hebburn Message Board since it's inception by Mike Ellison. Can't remember how long but possibly more than 20 years

Vikki hello, You are a genius . This is defiantly a must have for me ,and, I am sure for everyone , like me only knowing by name, sadly without a face until now !! I need to print it off to have a copy to file ? Can I do that ??? Let me know how?? This message board is fantastic, and, STILL GOING STRONG

It's always lovely to see you on the board Rhoda.
Mike Ellison had the brainwave of starting his 'Hebburn' message board in the 1990s.
Its also lovely to see 97 yr old Bob Noble posting aswell. Long may you both continue
