Come on ladies, who doesn't like a nice cuppa of Ringtons tea?! Well, it was founded in 1907 by Samuel Smith and a business partner called William Titterrington. and the company was formed by taking the "rington" from Titterington and the "S" from smith to create Ringtons! Amazing eh ? ! The company is still going today with over 200 deliveries from Scotland to Norfolk. They were associated with Mailing pottery from Newcastle and much of it is still sought after except lustre ware. When my old granny died, she had all sorts of it but clever old dad said she got most of it free with packets of tea and smashed it into the bin after she died. I'm still laughing as he smashed up a host of collectors items! Algernon St in Newcastle has a lot of history with Ringtons so next time, enjoy your tea with what could be money invested !
