Yes Joseph, I remember most of those shops too, Mr White was a farmer up on Mill Lane by the Coke Ovens, he also opened up the ice cream shop Station Rd and a fruit shop which was next door to the fish and chip shop on the corner of Thistle St and Victoria Rd.
