And in my part of Derbyshire newbuilds routinely have a garage. Even the smallest of Social Housing has an off road, front of house, designated parking spot. It is an essential !!!
Clearly the brains behind this nonsense live in inner London neighbourhoods where many big terraced houses costing several millions in places like Knightsbridge, Fulham etc only have on street parking.
They are unaware that most of the country north of Watford doesn't have the Tfl bus. Tube and rail system that they take for granted.
