Here in Derbyshire the Police are authorised to stop and seize Electric Bikes and Scooters being used illegally. They are then scrapped! Period!!
Last year the tally was 400 ish and as a result we do actually see fewer.
Just after Christmas some kids got them as presents and by New Year they were seized. Tough on the little ones but the parents are irresponsible for buying them.
However just over the County Border, Staffordshire Police do not exercise the same powers and as a result illegal use is an everyday issue.
We need stop, seize, trash everywhere as a standard.
