The Gem opened in May 1912 Mac, so will be there but just out of sight. That's Smiths Printers on the corner of Albert St- Lyon St. The tall Co-op building hosted Dances up stairs for years in what everyone called 'The Store Hall'. In later years when the Powerhouse was closing Jessie Ives who held popular dances there had to look for another place, so she started them off again in the Store Hall.
