John Wilson was my great grandfather and he was married to Mary Ann Taylor, he had a large family, Edith, Alice, Dinah, Elizabeth Jane, Richard, David and Ellen who was my grandmother. Ellen Wilson married Cornelius Richmond and they had 2 children, Elizabeth Jane who was my mother and John George. They relocated from hebburn/jarrow to Willesden Green London NW2 in the early 1930’s. Elizabeth Jane Richmond , my mother , married William John Coggins in 1942.
I seem to recall John Wilson living in the pit choosing you mentioned from census returns.
I was evacuated to Harvey Street when the V1 and V2 rockets started attacking London. Still got the ministry’s registration card with the Harvey Street address on it.
I was doing some research with my great grandchildren and trying to find information on Harvey Street and what happened to it. Hence my enquiry, from current maps it looks like Harvey street and the allotments were replaced by what is now Walsh Road?? The only location I can find to verify that is Patrick’s shop on wagonway Road.
Any further information would be greatly appreciated
