As to"Boodie", my Mam described collecting "Boodle", as you say, broken bits of ceramics/jewelry etc. They would set up in the back lane of Arthur Street, and swop bits of Boodle. Obviously some were more valuable than other! My Mam, Nancy Kirtley, was born in 1918, so this probably occurred around the mid to late 1920's, at a guess.
