The Ellison's lived in Hebburn Hall and were 'lords of the manor' in the 1800s. They had a beautiful garden and decided they'd like a garden pond.But being wealthy they went for 4 ponds instead.
Years later their garden became our Hebburn Park and Hebburn people called their ponds Hebburn Lakes.
Their Manor House has recently gone up for sale for £1.8 million.
