We couldn't get on the Table Tennis tables cos The Massons who ran the Powerhouse had a son & daughter so them & their friends inc the late Mick Lynch collared the tables all night.
We also went to Jessie Ives Saturday night dances in the big downstairs Powerhouse Hall listening & dancing to Rock'n'Roll. Later,early 1960s Jessies had to move so she started again upstairs in the Lyon St Store Hall.
I sometimes wonder would those kind of Dances work these days?
