Daffodils

Daffodils Dont Dance

Daffodils don't Dance,it's a poet's conceit
They have no toes,and are lacking feet
They bend and flutter sometimes,I'll grant
But can't perspire,and never pant

Daffodils can't dance,I wish that they could
Be free to take partners,dance through the wood
In couples or triples,quartets or more
Twirling and leaping ,upon the green floor

Every year they arise,fun of grace and with glee
Hoping that this year at last they'll break free
Too many of us, will share the same passion
Earthbound forever in frustrated fashion

Thank you John., your poem reminded me how much I miss the Cascade of spring flowers in the UK. Not to be negative but where I live we seem to not have a spring season jumping from banks of snow into well semi summer. I do miss GEordie Land and it's people.

Thank you John, I love daffodils the first ones that poke their heads up just give you the feeling that spring is just around the corner.

Many thanks for your comments.
I missed out a line under the title,
which should have read,Apologies to Wordsworth
and the last verse should have read full of grace
not fun of grace.I have only had one book published
intended for family and friends.
Then I decided to have some extra copies
printed for the local church to sell and keep the proceeds
Although there were errors, nobody to my knowledge
has asked for their money back!
