Its not true the Pension age is being raised to 71 so ignore it lads.

The article was sort of putting it forward as a possibility. Basically had no trust in this Government.

For people to be to get to work to that age or even earlier they have to have jobs in the first place.

There was something today that they may raise retirement age to 68.

Some may be able to work until that age but how many and at what jobs?

It’s one thing working at say a computer but what about road workers doing manual work!

This comes up periodically, the last government also had age rises mooted I think up to 75. The next jump will happen in a few years and be in place till about 2046, I think it won't affect most of us.

Mac H, I was reading the over 60’s are now working to pay for a lot of young people’s benefits. A few days ago a 20 year female was being interviewed in Nottingham. She said she didn’t think she could work all week, but needed her benefits as she needs to use it for taxis, as her mental health stops her getting on buses. She was she was out socialising with friends. She might be genuine, but for a lot on benefits now, it’s their mental health instead of their “bad” back.

Mental Health, Depression, Anxiety etc is the new ‘bad’ back it really is the kind of thing that Doctors can’t really diagnose as truth, I wasn’t born until after the war but I do wonder how young people of today would cope in the event that there was a war??

The current situation can’t continue there are more takers, excluding OAP’s who have contributed into the system, than contributors into the system, totally unsustainable.

Thanks for repeating that Norman.
As I suggested in my post at 10.03 it is "research" not Government policy and is already appearing on click bait sites.
So "dont panic Mr Mainwaring"!!
