The barge is carrying what I assume are legs for wind turbines, probably 3 legs. Wonder the capacity of the crane.

I'm pretty certain it's the ITM Challenger built 2008 with a lift capacity of 4000 tons. It looks like a 4 legged shallow water jack up rig it's transporting which are used by the likes of the Institute of Oceanographic Sciences to study marine life, currents etc. There's no drilling derrick.

Thinking about it again it looks like the crane ship has brought the base sections for wind turbines and the jack up rig is on station now. Where is this Joseph?

Going out of the Tyne on Tuesday. I spotted it from Tynemouth.
