True state of A & E

Following a double femur fracture in January, my partner was unable to walk last Sunday so I rang 111. The ambulance turned up 6 hours later at 2.30am. We arrived at Whiston A & E where we remained for the next 16 hours. After that, she was given a bottle of morphine and told to take it whenever. Then she was wheeled to the exit still in night attire and told to get a taxi. She asked for pain killers three times while we sat but all requests were ignored. Other patients said they had been there for over 10+ hours. On 45 yrs old lady was waiting for heart test results and had been waiting 16 hours. This is the true state of the NHS A & E. Today I am calling in ITV North West as this cannot go on.

Wow Stan that’s bad news, I just don’t think this is down to funding I just think the systems are badly managed, the thing is had your partner been an asylum seeker medical attention would have been in hand within the 4 star hotel.

If reports are to be believed the NHS is due yo be given another £30 billion, sorry but you can’t just keep throwing money into a badly managed system, the NHS needs a thorough overhaul starting at the top and going down to the bottom, no politics involved, will it ever happen, probably not.

As I've mentioned before, the guy running the show now for the NHS is a Hebburn lad and he's certainly got his work cut out to try and change things for the better.

Its disgracefull Invaders that were helped to get here by the treacherous French, get medical help quicker than us Brits who pay taxes to finance the bottomless pit called the NHS.
If we go to another country without Medical Insurance & need medical help, we have to pay because its not free.

It is the system at fault. Staff are running about like headless chickens and the public are being abusive. The Royal hospital in Liverpool has police stationed there as weekends are a no go. The latest is that Mo is now on slow release pain killers and thanks to me demanding our doctor takes action. However to get action I had to fill in a lengthy form for someone to decide what to do. I just hate to think what the NHS will be like in 10 years time. It it is still operating...

So sorry to hear such a terrible experience.
We visited our local hospital here in Hampshire and it was like being in the middle of London so crowded.

How dreadful for you and your dear partner. Thank goodness you got her some help to ease the pain. The future is worrying for us all.

Sheila, apparently it has gone on for years - a mis managed system and now its getting 34-35 new ambulances to add fuel to the fire.
