Damned disgrace. According to internet news, people may have to work until they are 74 yrs old. Also anyone before 1959 may face a pension cut. I read these 2 days ago. What is Starmer aiming for? He should resign or be put out as he is incapable to say the least. I am surprised there hasn't been riots over his actions..

Was in Hebburn Park last week during one of those hot afternoons and spotted quite a few immigrants playing football on the big field.Thinking nothing of this I told my wife when I got back in the house who then went onto explain she had been told that quite a few immigrants were now being housed in Ellison Hall in the park grounds.I can't confirm if this is true or not but it's the first I had heard about it.

I thought they were privately owned flats in Ellison Hall. I did read Serco a private Company have a contract with the government to find rental accommodation for immigrants. Young people are complaining Serco are offering higher rents. So pricing young professionals out of the rental market. Note once more it’s the tax payers cash.

Sheila, It's the old infirmary that's been converted into flats where they're staying not the Hall side of the building where the 3 flats are privately owned.

Thank you Peter. I don’t live in the area now, but remembered a friend telling me that Ellison Hall was now luxury flats.
