Any funny stories from our working days?

Talking to an old mate the other day about some of the daft thing that happened at work.

He reminded me of a story told by a mutual friend, Norman Park, a Hebburn lad.

Norman worked at Brigham & Cowan's at South Shields.
One Monday morning there were two guys rolling on the ground knocking lumps out of each other.
Apparently, they were two new starters who got chatting while waiting for the foreman.
They both had a terrible stammer and each thought the other was taking the Mick.

Come on I've got loads of them and I bet you have too. Come on let's hear them.

During the 60's I was playing in a group and long hair was the fashion and the works manager told me and my mate Bob to cover our heads working with drills etc. So we did. We looked great in boiler suits and bowler hats!
Another time we were late for work and the boss said " You should have been here at half past seven" I replied why, What happened". Great memories eh!

A young Airman was stopped by the Station Wattant Officer (SWO) a man in charge of ALL discipline on the base.

The Airman stood to attention (he looked rather dishevelled) and the SWO raised his pace-stick, prodding the airman in the chest with it.

"There's a piece of s**t on the end of this stick", said the SWO.

"Well", said the airman, "It's NOT on my end, Sir....."
