More sad news.

My Hebburn Cousin Monica Sutherland nee Dent was also a lifetime friend.
She sadly passed away just a week ago. She was well known in Hebburn as she ran her own Hairdressing shop in Ellison St & later Finchale Rd.
Sadly last Saturday 9th Aug she passed away after fighting cancer.
What a lovely lady she was. St Aloysius Church are really going to miss her.
As the song goes she was 'Simply the best'

I'm so sorry to hear of Monica's passing. She was a lovely lady. Am I right in thinking she was good friends with Margaret Mostoufi née Hedley, Norman?

Norman, I don't know if there was a familial connection. I think they were more good pals growing up, I seem to remember Monica telling me once but there may well be a Hedley connection. I saw Monica at the church play group when I first moved to Hebburn and Che was still small. I think it was one of her grandchildren she took along.
