Rayner has saved herself £40k by declaring her new seaside flat her main residence, I bet her constituents aren’t very pleased, nir Rachel from Accounts as this is £40k lost to the Treasury!!!

I read this earlier. I remember Ed Balls and his wife did the same years ago. I’m sure the Tories have done it in the past. The difference is the Tories don’t have the hatred the Socialists do for anyone who dares to have any savings.

How can Angela Rayner a 45 year old Labour Minister be a £millionairess already?
In the early 2000s she was a Council House tenant, then in 2007 under right to buy, she bought it.
Why are the DWP not looking into this disgraceful matter?
Where has her wealth came from?
All her MP salaries over the years since dont add up to £millions

No MP no matter what party should be able to hold onto a property that is paid for by MPs expenses, when they leave parliament they should revert back to government ownership. MPs get a reasonable salary with free travel and more than generous expenses that seem to be pushed to the limit by most. We won't see a limiting of these gravy train expenses if MPs have to vote for it the mores the pity.

Please be aware that MP's cannot claim for mortgage expenses for properties they buy and therefore the concept of returning them to Government ownership cannot happen. They do however get allowances for properties in London and in their constituency.
Where they rent a property in London or the constituency the ownership reverts to the landlord when the MP decamps.
So as much as I loathe the current bunch of hypocrites and especially the lovely deputy PM, that is the way it is!

They don't all rent, a considerable number buy and we pick up the mortgage.

MP's categorically cannot claim for Mortgage repayments. This was stopped after the 2010 expenses scandal.

Mac, It must be one of the very few things they can’t claim for, everything else seems to be in endless supply!!

This latest on Labour Party Deputy PM Angela 'charva' Rayner should trigger an investigation. I cant see any way she can explain how she's became a £millionaire.
