Hi Margaret.
I don't have a clue, but not many locals get on the board.Most regulars are expats.

78 years in hebburn and it was a lot better 60 years ago

Lived in Bill Quay, went to Clegwell, moved to London 1970, gradually moved further out of London, now live in Herefordshire but, the intention is to move to Northumberland in the not too distant future, NHS better in the North East than many counties that I have lived in.

Born & lived in Hebburn until mid 90’s (latterly lived next door to Margaret McD ) have since lived in Northumberland. My parents & all other family still live in Bill Quay & Hebburn so there regularly.

Born & lived in Hebburn for 8 whole years! Moved in 1964, lived all over, but still love the place I was born. Still have a few cousins there. Have been back a few times, but not lately.
But will visit soon.....
Currently staying on the lower Firth of Clyde...looking over the Isle of Arran....

Born in Hebburn 1946. Lived in Norway for 6 yrs plus all over the UK due to work. Now living in Liverpool. But Hebburn is still my real home. Always will be. I agree the 60's was the magic and still brings back that memories....

Born in Hebburn 1942 - moved to Whickham in 1966 after getting married. Hebburn still holds my growing up memories- Happy days.

Born in Hebburn 1940. Moved to Somerset in 1970. Moved from Somerset to Kent 1976. Moved to Oxfordshire 1978. Been in Oxfordshire 47 years. Still dream of moving back to Somerset, but I don’t think I have the energy now.

Born in Hebburn 1941. Left to join WRNS 1959. Left WRNS after my four years 1963 married 1964 lived in Portsmouth/Southsea until 1967. Came back to Hebburn
bought house and had my first son in 1968 then a second son 1976 and wouldn't leave now, not ever. Hebburn on earth, memories are wonderful. Its a shame it has changed so much from
when I was young but still come across familiar faces now and then. I couldn't have been born in a better place!

I am amazed at how many people on this board no longer live in Hebburn but keep in touch and have happy memories, myself, born in Hebburn (Ellison Street) in 1940, lived most of my life in Hebburn apart from a few years in Jarrow and Ovingham.

Born in Hebburn had to emigrate to Jarrow (Hebburn still Home though Agree it was better in the 50s & 60s ttfn

Lived in Hebburn until 1982 then emigrated to Sydney where I've lived since. I get a 3 week pass out every year from my Australian wife to catch up with family and friends in Hebburn.

I went through school (Aloysius) 1949 to 1959 with a lovely lad called Jim Clark who lived in Cambridge Ave. Is he any relation?

I left Hebburn in 1971 for America. I lived in Boston, Connecticut and now Florida. I get back every, once in a while to see my sister and brothers who still live in the area. I enjoy checking in to the Hebburn website to catch up on local news.

No Norman Jim Clark isn't a relation. My dad was called John Clark but he lived in Felling before marrying my mother Sheila Cossey. Mam was 90 in March and I was home for her party at Hebburn Sports Club, will be back in North East mid October just for a visit.

I left Hebburn in 1961 at the request of my sister, she thought it would be good to get away for a year or so!, I loved BC Canada from the beginning, but do miss my friends, and you NEVER forget your roots, I have been home several times, but those days are over now,too old!
