Thursday & Fridays header a little early

This view is taken on the main road that runs from Seaburn to Marsden & then on to South Shields.
That beautiful old historical Pub, the 'Grey Horse Inn' was demolished quite a few years ago & a Supermarket built in its place,

When I was about 9 in 1953 my family took me and my toddler sister Marian for a weeks holiday on a little caravan site on a farmers field here in Whitburn. I remember walking to the top of the sloping fields and could see Slag Heap on the Jarrow Hebburn border in the distance. Our house in Grasmere Rd was hidden at the other side of that slag heap.These days chilren have holidays abroad, not 5 or 6 miles away

A senior moment?

It was The Grey Horse and it's been converted into a Co-Op supermarket. The building hasn't been demolished.
The Britannia pub is in Cleadon and is still a pub as far as I'm aware.

Thanks Ray Ive changed it to the Grey Horse Inn.
As you say it was a senior moment haha.

God I think the majority of us who post on here must have very regular senior moments but, the good thing is we are still alive so we must make the most of it even with senior moments.

As Ray Forster said, that old building is still there, but now a Co-op Store.

What an interesting scene. I especially like the man with the tray of bread? Actually, I just like every bit of it. I’m afraid the more recent scene is not a patch on it.

And the two ladies walking down are, by their garb, probably from the bakery!
