Many locals went on the organised trips to Lourdes

I have quite a few photos of Tyneside people on their trips to Lourdes in France like this one, where St Bernadette once lived.
I can see my late mam & late sister Marian in front of the fence with 2 Hebburn friends.
Click the LINK to see a video clip showing St Bernadette as if she was asleep. Scientists cant explain why she hasn't decomposed.

Hi Norman, thankyou for that photo. Its one I have never seen and I think your mam and sister are with my three Aunts: Bridget Ford, Margaret Docherty and Norah Miller my late mams sisters. their maiden names were Joyce and lived in Albert Street when young opposite the Gem. I also recognize Tom and Madge Lewis next to them.

I’d be very interested to see any more photos of trips to Lourdes around very early 70’s if any exist.
My Mam, Jean Gordon, went on a pilgrimage partly funded by a charity event hosted by Hebburn Legion. I believe that Alan and Nora Arcus were instrumental in its organisation.
For that …. and for the friendship shared between them and my parents, they will always be remembered fondly..
Oh! and of course, it’s another reason to call in there for a pint when I come ‘home’ to visit 🤔😉

I have 3 slices of a panoramic photo of a 'Hexham and Newcastle Diocese Pilgrimage to Lourdes 1972.
