Sorry Stan but I have to disagree with you regarding the spending of money received in benefits on the likes of cigarettes, alcohol, gambling and the like. Benefits were supposed to be a stop gap measure to help people who lost their job they were not meant to be a ‘lottery’ for life, I believe that money received in benefits should be used for food, rent , help in finding employment that kind of thing, I don’t think that the Tax Payer should fund buying of alcohol, cigarettes or gambling, that is my personal opinion.

The Conservative Party are suggesting ways to cut the benefits bill, the suggestion that benefits should be stopped after 6 months if you haven’t found a job, I don’t agree with that as I have a friend who was out of work for over a year, she applied for nearly 400 jobs during that period of time, finding work within 6 months, in her case, was impossible through no fault of her own. I do think that receipt of benefits should be closely monitored, I think if you are claiming out of work benefits you should have to show that you are actively trying to find a job, if you can’t show that you are actively looking for work then I think that benefits should be either stopped or very closely monitored.

I have to say that people who are disabled and, I don’t mean that to include the likes of anxiety etc, should have no fear about having their benefits stopped or cut I am all for helping people in need, but I object to giving money to idlers who think it is their right to receive benefits.

😀 At almost 90 years of age, I think this is the first time I have ever seen the expression "Hippy Lazy" in written form. However, it perfectly describes those who are of that nature. Well done Mac Hardy - but beware, my wife has just had a brand new hip device fitted. Says it's useless.😬
