Another long gone Hebburn employer. with a bit of history

RW Transmissions was an Engineering Company at the bottom of Prince Consort Rd which was demolished and a Housing Estate built on the land & now called 'Tyne View estate'.As usual I have added some history on the photo.
Hebburn once employed thousands of workers from all over the area including Wallsend across the river and sadly its all gone now.
Reyrolles, The Bushing Co, Pyrotyenax, Bitumastic, Whites Burners,Baker Perkins, Tube Works on the Jarrow & Hebburn border, Monkton Coke Works,Palmers, Hawthorn Leslies.
I feel sorry for our young people having to find work nowadays😞😞😞

I can remember RW Transmissions from when I was young. I had relatives who lived at 48 Prince Consort Road, the last house before the fields.

I think lads of my age all went to work away knowing what was happening to our area in the early 90s . I meet quite a few ex shipyard lads up in aberdeen when travelling .
