Spinoza is interesting,imo, because it’s
hard not to empathize with him and his life story. His excommunication from Judaism because of his belief was severe and furthered his unconventional belief that God and nature refer to the same thing, a kind of pantheism, which when pursued suggests that he didn’t believe in God at all.
