are those that offer no hope, those that are reactionary, as opposed to those who have hope and respond to what is good in the world, what they focus on, those that not only offer a more hopeful pleasant view but a path for solutions, for redemption. I will wonder to my dying day why supposedly rational people don’t fight like Job to grab onto this reality. There’s a fight for the human soul. The result determines our world view.

A miracle is a violation of the laws of nature; and as a firm and unalterable experience has established these laws, the proof against a miracle, from the very nature of the fact, is as entire as any argument from experience can possibly be imagined. or problem, depending on your POV, was his need to see (physical) evidence to believe. His “cause and effect” thinking, imo, limited his ability to see beyond those limits.

...religious beliefs is evidence to me that ALL religions are pure inventions of Man.

Why would anyone think that out of all of the THOUSANDS of religions that humans have created, the ONE religion that THEY believe in is THE ONE that is "true".

That just defies all logic.

If there really was ONE TRUE GOD, and he wanted his Creation to believe IN HIM, then WHY would humans have created so many religions that have NOTHING to do with HIM?

Thus, in that sense God (divine intelligence/creator) is in the forefront. And in every other sense that we humans can sense, that being limited to physical laws, not exclusive beyond our senses. Or put another way, we humans don’t know where the hell we are, a lost planet overloaded with lost souls. Take it or leave it :-)

that is typified by people doing exactly what you say, creating diverse things to worship, starting with self, rather than seeking a RELATIONSHIP with the God of creation. When other things become the objects of awe, rather than the God of creation, it follows that a diversity of belief would be the case. It in no way cancels out the possibility of one true God.

There’s no way of knowing how many people truly seek the face of God. It is obvious that many do not. Free will.

That’s why faith is mandatory. How else could you believe there is a God who loves us so much that He’d die to save us to Himself. Yet faith once employed makes the incredible real.

is all fine and good and can even be fascinating but it can not supersede reality.

I have never witnessed anyone rising from the dead, or walking on water, or any of the miracles as so describe in the Bible or in any religious text for that matter. Thus for me the literal interpretation of the Bible falls apart quickly.

I have always believed that the Bible is a mix of history, myth, and allegory and in order to properly understand it, one must study the culture and languages of the time.

It does explain the physical world around us.

When religious beliefs/claims stand in opposition to science's understanding of how this world and the universe operate I come down on the side of science.

I reject the belief that JC was resurrected as there is no scientific support for such a phenomenon. I have never witnessed anything dead come back to life.

I am not a believer in the supernatural. I am not a believer in miracles. Thus I question many of the claims in the Bible as the literal truth.

I believe in what I can see and experience, but also what can be explained through science.
