My account was hack and the ‘bank robbers’ got away with $270,000. And almost got another $90,000 but the bank stopped that. Yes, my money was restored by the bank. Another hack was my brokerage account. They came within a hairs breath of getting another $250,000 within a 24 hours window. The transfer was for a Friday and the broker stopped payment on Thursday. So I know a bit about this plague. It’s considered bank robbery. The penalty is 30 to 60 years in prison. The banks don’t want the pubic/depositors to realize just how vulnerable their digital firewalls are. My other plague is phone scammers. Today I had 15 calls from India and Pakistan. Their names are Mike, Larry, George, laughable. Sometimes I shine them on. Other times I just say F off.
