People don't understand that SNAP is part of a larger picture. For example, my electric bill doubled since this summer because of an approved rate hike. Did SSI increase enough to cover that? Hell no. Did SNAP? Hell, no.

Some are drowning in medical bills and feel like they might have been better off dead. SNAP puts some food on the table, a small relief in the darkness.
