Something like: "belief is never proven fact." Once proof that a statement of fact is certainly true is established, belief become unnecessary (and perhaps even impossible). Belief that such a statement is true in the absence of proof is not knowledge ("justified true belief") even if the statement is in fact true. The establishment of Gettier cases demonstrates this quite convincingly.
