If one believes in such things, what is the difference between the soul and spirit? As I understand it: The soul is a person's makeup, memories, will, and personality. The soul processes thoughts and creates the foundation for personal identity. In Hebrew (nephesh) or Greek (psyche), the entire living person. The Spirit is internal, an immortal spark that functions as a connection to God and spiritual awareness. It facilitates awareness and intuition. Looking at Hebrew texts, the word is ruach (Hebrew) or pneuma (Greek), referring to the life force from God The relationship is simple. The soul bridges between the physical and the spirit. The spirit then serves as a driving guide for the soul and body and a bridge to the Divine
