Mr Dinsmore, my high school American History teacher knew how to make history interesting by giving us the dirt on all the presidents. I do remember this election.

Blaine was the Republican candidate, known for corruption. The Dems rallying cry was:

"Blaine, Blaine, James G. Blaine, The Continental Liar from the State of Maine"

Cleveland was no prize either, as he fathered a child out of wedlock. The Reps slogan was:

"Ma, Ma, Where's my Pa, Gone to the White House, Haw, Haw, Haw"

I knew the last one, but must confess I had to look up the last one. Knew it had something to do with Blaine and Maine.
