Mostly early pioneer folks. Settled in Jamestown. Fought the Brits, the Civil War. Farmers and tradesmen. There is a Dean Family Cemetery in Shenandoah National Park (Dean Mountain). My mother’s family from the late 1700s. Still active. I’m related to John Dean of Watergate. And it’s said related actor James Dean. My last name is an ancient Pict surname. The wall I hit was a medieval stone tower and some Scottish warlord. But that was a trail that meandered by way of both male and female backeddies.
