Here are some observations of my own.

1. At night, I saw four orange blobs through a light cloud cover. I was mystified. Suddenly, the blobs passed through a break in the clouds. I then saw, lit by bright moonlight, four jet fighters with the flames from their afterburners at their rears.

2. While driving during late afternoon daylight, I saw a BRILLIANT yellow light in the sky coming towards my car. It continued on a clearly defined path as we approached one another, growing brighter by the second. Then the object turned and revealed itself to be the shiny vertical stabilizer of a medium-sized aircraft.

From your vague description, I discern nothing very unusual, and certainly nothing extra-terrestrial.
