I would say "natural" in this context basically means "not supernatural."

That is, any phenomenon for which all antecedent phenomena are causally-determinable physical events and which is itself a proximate cause of only physical and metaphysical* phenomena. This would include phenomena created by human action, which is itself a natural phenomenon. * Such as human cognition, basically.
