Cell tower data showed Kohberger's phone connected to towers near the victims' King Road home at least 23 times between July 2022 and November 2022. All pings occurred late at night or early in the morning between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m.

Following his arrest, a direct cheek swab from Kohberger confirmed an exact statistical match to the DNA on the knife sheath that he inadvertently left at the crime scene.

Admittedly, the evidence is circumstantial, as there was no eyewitness to the actual slayings, but it is consistent and corroborative, and does not contain any exculpatory factors.

In many cases, strong circumstantial evidence is all that is needed for conviction.

A good example is, if you wake up in the morning on otherwise dry land, and everything outside for as far as you can see is soaking wet, you may conclude with almost certainty that it rained, although you were not an eyewitness to the event.
