Although they are inexorably intertwined, for the pursuit of science is dependent upon technology, and the fundamental enabler of technology is science, the quests are different. Technology seeks to push the limit of what mankind can achieve with science, whereas science is more concerned intellectually and philosophically with discovering, documenting and predicting what was, is, and can be, and why.

Thus, science is the nobler of the conjoined entities, for without it, there would be no technology.

Ironically, science promotes prediction of the past.
