I’m sorry to hear about your overheating problems, Ken, but I fail to see what that has to do with the issue you raised here.

I think you unfairly characterized this woman as being “unreasonable.” How was she unreasonable? She clearly stated that she had worn dresses like that many times in courtrooms without objections, but would now be wearing a blazer when in THAT judge’s courtroom henceforth. From what I saw, the dress she was wearing was not even low cut or revealing. It was rather ‘conservative’ IMO.

I think it was wrong of that judge (a woman judge no less) to single her out and “judge” her like that publicly. She could have told her privately that she would prefer her to wear a blazer over her dress or cover her arms in her courtroom going forward.

And if you haven’t noticed, business attire “dress codes” have changed over the years, becoming much more relaxed. Very few businessmen even wear suits and ties anymore, and I doubt they would be required to wear suits in offices without air conditioning.
