Do you believe in God??

I ask this because the research I've done on the past, and, recently, point strongly to a creator of the universe. The moral, teleological, and, fine tuning arguments point strongly to a creator. I also accept the evidence for Intelligent Design.

But because that particular existential determination is, unavoidably, a matter of a (largely) non-volitional leap-pf-faith a la Kierkegaard, I must remain open to that changing. I consider that unlikely to occur, but possible.

Accept God into your life thru Jesus Christ and allow him to encourage direction for your life.

God intends to work all things out for you for the good in your life if you accept him . You can receive God's promise and favor.

It's amazing how you reject God but allow other people to influence your anti-God perceptions.

You can't imagine how wrong you are. If anything, I can be a bit stubborn and even arrogant about my intellectual self-sufficiency. Your off-target assessment of others' ability to influence me aside, let's address your suggestion:

Is it possible to volitionally reverse a matter of existential belief and have it be anything other than a superficial reversal? I assert that it is not. Unless that core belief itself changes (and that's almost entirely a non-volitional matter), any outward claim of action to the contrary will be false at its core. If God did actually exist, that wouldn't work: you'd be exposed via omniscience.

You are certainly arrogant and misguided in your so called intellectual assessments. You are obviously influenced by others.

You put on a what you believe is a strong front but you are actually a weak person. You would never survive in my environment.

He considered Christ to be a living entity able to be experienced on a personal level. While critical of institutional Christianity (because of its corruption), he as a deeply-committed believer.

Moreover, Kierkegaard is probably the central figure in establishing faith as a rigorously defensible component of any epistemology incorporating belief in God. If I am "influenced" by Soren Kierkegaard, it's because of his important and still completely valid work in my field (Philosophy). No need to re-invent the wheel...

I read some of his writing years ago

Obviously I base those elements of my life upon which philosophy has bearing (and that's likely more than most folk, given that it's my field...) on an amalgamation of philosophies, not the work of any single philosopher, even myself. My own (published) work isn't in what you might call "day-to-day" philosophy, which would usually be moral philosophy and ethics. I do technical philosophy: linguistic philosophy/semiotics in my younger days, mostly philosophy of science and logic now.

Kierkegaard's not really a major figure* in my personal philosophical framework. I do indeed incorporate some of Kierkegaard's thinking on the role of faith in erecting operable epistemologies in the face of the unknown or indeterminate...but that's about it. As I mentioned, Kierkegaard was a rather devoted Christian believer...and I'm an atheist. Not exactly "basing one's life," is it?

Did you take so much as a moment to think this through, even in your own stumbling way? Do better. At least offer something resembling a challenge.

* More prominent would be Karl Popper, AJ Ayer, Bertrand Russell...
