An ethical dilemma.

Yesterday I drove about 45 minutes to a Brewery where one of my favorite bands was playing.

Long story short, I bought a pizza and a beer and swiped my Debit Card to pay for it. Added a 15% tip. I guess the total came to around $25. I didn't ask for a receipt.

Usually when I use my Debit Card the charge immediately appears on my on-line bank statement.

So here it is the next morning, and the charge hasn't appeared yet. That's unusual.

Suppose the charge never goes through?

It's been over a week. Has it shown up yet?

It should be their responsibility to make sure their machine is working and to make sure they charge you correctly. Sometimes I swipe my card wrong and the cashier has to show me where to swipe it. That's their job.

Sometimes my credit card charges take 1 or 2 days to show up.

I get an email whenever something is charged on my card. I check all the charges and check for mistakes.

I no longer use my debit card. Credit card. Pay it off in 30 days. The digital age is about as secure as an open door.

Give it a day or two.

Some charges don't show up as fast as others. I think it is a volume thing.

When my wife goes to Walmart, it shows up at the bank almost instantly. At least in an hour or two.

She charges bird seed/feed at the feed mill. They don't have many people using plastic. It may take a couple of days before it shows up at the bank.

Wait a few days. I'll bet they get their money.
