The rules seem unfair.

So they allow biological males to compete with girls, but they do not allow "unsportsmanlike" victory celebrations by real girls.

"freak" is generally considered an offensive term, particularly when used to describe a person with a disability or a physical condition that differs from the norm. While the word has some non-offensive uses, its history and common association with disability make it a word that should be avoided in most contexts.

I know my past expenditures in SF, Chicago and NYC are a mere trickle in the gestalt scheme of universal matters, and my cessation of those expenditure will hardly be missed (for many of the beneficiaries of my choosing no longer exist ... wonder why?), but I quit going because each city has let its own government ruin things for tourists like me.

I spent time and money in these cities in their Golden era. Many of the attractions of significance in the past are gone, but the root cause of my departure lies in the drastic change in the essential character of these venues.

Alas, gone are world-class attractions:

Laurent's, Bull & Bear, the old cafe atop SFA, and Garvin's in NYC

Chez Paul an Erie and Rush in Chicago

Pizzeria Uno at Wabash & Ohio in Chicago became too "commercial"

Mocca On Maiden Lane and Gaylord India Restaurant in Ghirardelli Square, SF

I am equally content to explore and patronize other venues, including Palm Beach Breakers, Lexington, Asheville Inn on Biltmore Estate, Sandestin/Miramar/30-A, St Simons/Sea Island, BroAdmoor, Charlotte, Annapolis, Evanston, etc., where sanity still prevails over stupidity.

The trans person is still under 18. It's normal for children to follow the rules set by adults. I think the problem is with the rules.

It seems unfair to criticize the child athlete when the bad rules are the real problem.

In cases like this one? I'd say yes.

An older teenager might require guidance from an adult on a relatively complex ethical issue, but I'd argue that this issue isn't one of them.

The notion of the rules not necessarily corresponding to what is right is one an older teenager is not only capable of understanding, but it typically one they will often vociferously complain about (not yet having surrendered to cynicism).

Neither is the issue of biological males possessing an unfair advantage over females in athletic competition one that is at all beyond a non-intellectually-challenged older teen.

These kids know what they are doing and know, deep down, that it's wrong.

It is UNFAIR and IMMORAL to permit men to enter women's competitions.

the problem is that there aren't enough trans people (usually) in one spot to create a separate team.

These people are INSANE. Why encourage them?

... most are so hung up in the labyrinth of their own abnormality that there is little chance of them crawling out of their shells and organizing a team in a "normal" sport.

The problem is people forget what a SMALL percentage of the population are trans, but of course the prudes in America are all hung up on sex and body parts.

Yeah. Only the largest cities would have a big enough pool...
